Women of Jesus’ Merciful Passion

With the Divine Mercy Center serving the public and a strong established Board of Directors guiding the work of the Center, Catherine again felt the Lord tugging at her heart. He reminded her of His request that she establish and form a religious order of women. The order will be called the Sisters of Jesus’ Merciful Passion, and will wear a white habit. The Lord made this request to Catherine on September 30, 1994.

In the fall of 2012, Catherine received permission from Archbishop Vigneron to begin work on this new community of women. There were a few starts and stops as a clearer understanding of the process evolved. However, a planning committee worked fearlessly and fervently on the Statutes and Bylaws for this community of women, and on September 15, 2016, Archbishop Vigneron approved the Statutes which would allow the women’s community to form as part of the Private Association of Christian Faithful that is The Servants of Jesus of The Divine Mercy.

The intent is for this Community to eventually become a religious institute of consecrated women whose charism is to provide spiritual direction and holy hospitality for all in need.

As the Community emerges and forms its members, it will fall completely within the private association of The Servants of Jesus of The Divine Mercy. It will operate under the Appendix to the Statutes of The Servants of Jesus of The Divine Mercy. This Appendix describes the history, purpose, eligibility and commitment required for membership in the Community that will now be known as The Women of Jesus’ Merciful Passion.

The WJMP will be formed and will follow the Rule of the Ten Virtues of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
