Dear Divine Mercy Family,
As we approach Thanksgiving and Advent, there is so much to be thankful for and to look forward to. We are grateful for God’s providence and faithfulness throughout the years – His generous extension of healing to all those in need who reach out to the Divine Mercy Center. We are also ever so thankful for you. Without your prayers, hours spent volunteering and financial support nothing we do would be possible. With the state of the world today, the work of the Divine Mercy Center is needed now more than ever. We need your help to keep the doors of the Divine Mercy Center open so we can continue to provide for all those in desperate need of Christ’s Mercy.
Maybe you visit the Divine Mercy Center regularly, maybe it’s been a while or maybe you have yet to encounter the Divine Mercy Center experience. To some, it is literally nothing short of miraculous. Picture this…
It’s quiet in the Oratory as Prayer Ministers lift the intentions of the day in their prayers. The noon bell tower begins to ring and a Marian hymn can be heard throughout the 13 acres of the Divine Mercy Center and throughout the neighborhood. The Prayer Ministers prepare to begin the noontime prayers as the staff and guests come into the Oratory to join in. The prayers begin. We pray for our Archbishop Allen H. Vigneron, our chaplain Fr. Darrell Roman, all priests and religious, our members, the unborn, special intentions for the month and all of the intentions placed in the prayer box. People’s hearts are in that box…their joys, burdens, hardships and blessings. The young moms and dads diagnosed with cancer; individuals suffering from various kinds of trauma; families suffering from division; those struggling with thoughts of suicide; the sufferings and loneliness of the elderly; students’ prayers to pass finals and tests; souls of family members who have passed on to eternal life; those struggling with work and others who struggle to put food on their tables…prayers from Clinton Township, Michigan and prayers from around the world.
The Prayer Ministers hold these intentions in their hearts and offer their sacrifices for the people who come in for prayer throughout the day. As the noon prayers conclude a few Prayer Ministers come in from bringing Holy Communion to the elderly in a nearby nursing home. A couple of Prayer Ministers remain in the Oratory and continue to lift the intentions in prayer while a handful of visitors and Prayer Ministers talk over lunch in the social hall and share in the joy of friendships made at the Divine Mercy Center.
To all, this is a place of refuge and welcoming where God’s mercy flows in abundance. Come and visit. We invite you to join in our upcoming Open House (see the information at the bottom of this page) and Anniversary Celebration of the Vigil of the Immaculate Conception with Holy Mass celebrated by Bishop Fisher.
We also encourage you to support this mission and all of its efforts with your financial support through our year-end appeal. We need your help. We need the doors of the Divine Mercy Center to stay open for all who need small and not-so-small miracles in their everyday lives. The goal for this appeal is $150,000. It is one of the two major annual fundraisers for this mission. Please support us today with an ongoing monthly gift or one-time donation.
Along with the prayers we will continue to offer for you daily, please stop in to the Divine Mercy Center to receive a special prayer card as a small gift from the ministry. We pray that it brings joy and peace throughout these beautiful seasons.
May Jesus, The Divine Mercy continue to bless and protect you!
In His Mercy.
